April National Days to Celebrate at Home

Sydne Style shares April National Days 2020 Calendar with activities to do at home during quarantine

Need some ideas on activities to to do from home during quarantine? There’s a national day for everything! I put together a fun calendar filled with daily April National Days that you can save to your phone or computer. It’s a rough time right now and most of us are going pretty stir crazy. But I hope this calendar can bring you some ideas of things you can do each day. I know most of are making April 16 aka Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day a daily national holiday!

April National Days

April 1: national Walking Day

I haven’t celebrated April Fool’s since I was 13. Not to get dark, but my dad died on April 1 and I initially though it was an April Fool’s joke. So the holiday brings back bad memories. At a time like this, I definitely don’t think we need to get tricked. But a quick walk to get some fresh air? That’s something we can all benefit from, while practicing social distancing, of course.

April 2: National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day

There’s nothing like a sandwich from our childhood to add some comfort during these times!

April 3: National Espadrille Day

Espadrilles are one of my favorite shoes to wear during the summer. Hopefully by then this will all be behind us and we can rock the comfy shoe trend!

April 4: National vitamin C Day

Vitamin C has so many benefits. Pour yourself some OJ to get the nutrients. And slather on some Vitamin C infused skin care. Here are some of my fave beauty products with Vitamin C:

April 5: National deep dish pizza day

Every year, my step-sister, who lives outside Chicago, sends a Tastes of Chicago package for Christmas. In it, is Lou Minati’s famous deep dish pizzas. You can order them online and they ship right to your house!

April 6: NATIONAL Caramel Popcorn Day

Continuing the food holidays… why not whip up some gourmet popcorn for your Netflix night? I found this easy caramel popcorn recipe on Pinterest.

april 7: NATIONAL Beer Day

Personally, I don’t like beer. But if you do, April 7 is your holiday! As for me? Maybe I’ll make a root beer float to celebrate.

April 8: Passover

Happy Passover to those who celebrate! And if you’re looking for a yummy matzo recipe, this chocolate desert sounds delicious!

April 9: NATIONAL Name Yourself Day

What’s your quarantine name? I found this funny meme on my friend Ashley’s instagram via Elan’s feed. She was “Sleepy Frosted Flakes.” The day I saw it I was “Loved Chocolate Covered Cherries.” As I write this, I’m “Wired Oat Milk Latte.” It’s a fun game to play with your friends!

April 10: National Siblings Day

This is a great day to reach out to a brother or sister and check in to see how they’re doing. I don’t have any siblings but I do have step-sisters and brothers, who I already set my reminder to text on April 10.

April 11: National Pet Day

Let’s get real, every day is National Pet Day in my house with Jack Jack!

April 12: Happy Easter

Happy Easter to those who celebrate! If you want to set up an Easter theme at home, my girl Kristin has tips on Easter tablescapes.

April 13: National Scrabble Day

Time to get your word game on! If you have scrabble at home, play it with your partner. If not, there’s always Words with Friends!

April 14: National Look Up at the Sky Day

Whether it’s from your window, balcony or on a quick social-distancing walk, take a moment to look up at the sky. Breathe and remember that better days are to come.

April 15: National Titanic Remembrance Day

Ok, some of these national days are pretty silly. But maybe it’s the perfect time to watch Leo and Kate in Titanic or play a little Celine Dion!

April 16: National Wear Your Pajamas To Work Day

Well, isn’t this one fitting! I’m sure you’ve been living in pjs like me. But in case you need some more here are some cute sets I found online:

April 17: National Cheeseball Day

Because who doesn’t love cheeseballs?!

April 18: National Animal Crackers Day

Ok, let me say it again, but differently: who doesn’t love animal crackers?!

April 19: National Garlic Day

The vampires will be in hiding on April 19! It’s a great day to whip up your favorite pasta, with a side of garlic bread, of course.

April 20: National Look Alike Day

Share your doppelganger on social media! The celebrity look alike I get the most is a young Kylie Minogue or her sister, Dannii Minogue. I’ll take it!

April 21: National Tea Party

I’m thinking of skipping my happy hour chats with my friends this day and instead having a virtual tea party!

April 22: National Earth Day

This is certainly a holiday we should celebrate every day. Recycle. Cherish nature. Beauty is all around us if we look.

April 23: National Picnic Day

I always love a good picnic! Here are my 5 tips on creating the perfect picnic. Hopefully by the end of April I’ll be able to have one with friends. If not, I know Jack Jack wouldn’t mind being my solo guest on a picnic blanket!

April 24: National Pigs in a Blanket Day

When I still ate meat, I loved pigs in a blanket. I might have to research to see if there are any vegan alternatives for this one!

April 25: National Telephone Day

It’s the perfect reminder to pick up your phone and call a loved one to ask them how they’re doing.

April 26: National Pretzel Day

If I was in New York, I’d get a soft pretzel from a street vendor. They’re my favorite! I guess a bag of pretzels will have to do this year.

April 27: National Tell a Story Day

“Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sydne, who was going so crazy being home alone that she wrote a really long blog post on how to celebrate the little things in life during a rough time… “

April 28: National Superhero Day

I think still have Jack Jack’s Batman Halloween costume. Stay tuned for the return of BatJack over on Instagram!

April 29: National Denim Day

It’s the day to rock your fave blues! If you need some inspo, search by “Key Piece” – “Jeans” in my Outfits section.

April 30: National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day

You definitely don’t have to wait till the end of the month for this one. Adopting Jack Jack, and before that Bunny Bell, was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Having a furbaby at home brings so much joy and non-stop laughter, something that is especially need during these sad times.

If you want to see what pets are available where you live you can do a search on 911fosterpets.com.

I hope this post was fun for you! I’ll be sharing the days I’m celebrating over on Instagram.
If you celebrate any, tag me and I’ll share on my Insta Stories!
