I got a bunch of requests on how to style a maxi dress for summer. So I ordered this black and white maxi dress (on sale for only $17!) and came up with 5 ways to wear a maxi dress for you. The dress is so comfy! It’s super lightweight so I’ve been wearing it non-stop lounging around the house and dropping off Sydne Summer face masks at the post office. I also got it in coral but I’d recommend the darker colors because the lighter ones are a bit see through. So I’ve only worn the coral as a coverup over a bikini if I’m by the pool.
If you haven’t already, you can watch the full video on these 5 ways to wear a maxi dress over on my IGTV channel.

Hi, I really like your tips. Thanks for sharing your fashion tips with us. I believe fashion is a popular aesthetic in a certain time and context, especially in clothing and you truly have a good taste of fashion and style selection. Wow! You are looking so beautiful in these pictures. Thanks for sharing this amazing post. Denim is perfect for any occasion and never goes out of style. I’m a fashion freak and I’ll definitely try this look with my stylish Wing shawl. In these days Wing shawl is a huge trend. Thanks for the lovely post.
Nice ideas!
I always want to carry the first look but I am not confident that it will suit me. Will you suggest anything?
Thank you for this uplifting and practical post — I love how you broke down five distinct ways to style a maxi dress for summer, making it feel easy, versatile and chic at the same time. I especially appreciate how you took what might seem like a “simple” piece and showed ways to take it from lounge-to-errand to brunch-to-evening out.
Here are a few things I found especially helpful:
– The note that the lighter-colour version of the dress was a little sheer was super honest — I often worry about modesty or sun-glare with flowy summer dresses, so that tip stood out.
– I love how each “look” added a distinct accessory or layer (belt, hat, headband, shirt over dress) — that really shows how you can make one dress feel like many outfits rather than “just one piece.”
A couple of questions / thoughts:
Since you mentioned the dress was really lightweight and comfy (#1) — did you test how it holds up in wind or a breeze? Sometimes maxi dresses in airy fabrics can get “too flowy” and hard to manage in outdoor settings.
Finally: if you were to pick one version of the maxi (colour, print or fabric) that works best for hot summers (and humid climates), what would you go with — maybe something breathable, darker tone to avoid sheerness, maybe print to distract from sweat-marks?
