Thanks to Covid, my hair was the longest it’s been since I was a teenager. And I don’t mean that in a good way. I kept seeing people do hair cuts at home but I just didn’t want to chance it. So month after month my hair grew longer and longer. Then, finally, hair salons were slowly allowed to re-open in Los Angeles. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to get a haircut. It’s funny to think about things we used to just take for granted are now almost life changing. That’s exactly how I felt after getting my hair cut by Andrew Daum Chung at Kim Vo Salon. I walked out of this safe open-air salon feeling like a brand new woman.
I’ve talked about Kim’s salon on Robertson a few times before on my blog. It’s so beautiful and airy. And, luckily, it has a massive courtyard. So you can get your hair done outside. There are awnings above, plus space AC units, so you don’t overheat when you’re getting a blowout. And everyone, of course, wears a mask. I wore my Sydne Summer face mask but they also have disposable face masks in case you need an extra. I felt totally safe the entire time I was there.
Getting my hair cut was a priority, since it was way too long. Next up I’ll be visiting Kim for color. He’s been doing my hair for over 10 years. It was sure interesting having to touch up my roots at home. I can’t wait to get my hair color back into the hands of a professional. After Covid, I’ll never take things like a hair cut or hair color for granted again!
