While my home is being renovated, I’ve been staying in San Diego. Then I’m staying at a friend’s for a few days in LA before heading to New York. So I was very careful packing my beauty travel bag with essentials that would be easy to transport for the next few weeks. Here are the 9 beauty items I brought with me:
1. Cleansing balm
Instead of a normal face wash, I brought Julep Love Your Bare Face Cleansing Balm Stick. Since it’s a stick, you don’t have to worry about any spills in your travel bag. It’s super hydrating thanks to camellia oil. And the pomegranate ingredient lightly exfoliates your skin.
2. facial spritz
I’m a huge fan of face sprays year-round to hydrate and set my makeup. I was recently introduced to The Organic Pharmacy Rose Facial Spritz. You guys know I love anything and everything roses. This spray is specifically targeted to sensitive skin, which I find helpful when I’m traveling.
3. overnight cream
Back to roses… I talked about Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial before in my rose beauty products post. I’ve been using it for almost a year now and I always wake up with the softest skin.
4. moisuturizer with spf
Sunscreen is a must for me these days. I’ve been using Ahava Age Control Even Tone Moisturizer because it’s a great two-in-one product: It has SPF 20. And it hydrates while reducing the appearance of fine lines.
5. travel face wipes
I use face wipes daily. So I was thrilled to find a travel version! Arcona Triad 2 Go wipes come in individual packages. I couldn’t find them online but the original version is great too.
6. day to night eye cream
Instead of bringing two eye creams, I packed Dr. Brandt 24/7 Retinol Eye Cream. As the name says, you can use it from day to night. I like the slim packaging and the retinol helps fight aging.
7. spray deodorant
I always go with a spray deodorant when I travel. I just find it easier to apply and it packs better than a traditional stick. I recently have been using the new Dove Invisible Dry Spray Antiperspirant since it leaves no white marks on every color of clothing I have in my suitcase.
8. texturizing spray
I’ve been using Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray for years. I literally stock up on the travel sizes and pack them whenever I travel. The smell is oh so delicious. And it really helps create volume, perfect for when you don’t wash your hair daily while traveling.
9. lip balm
A moisturizing lip balm is a must for travel. A friend recently introduced me to Sarah Happ The Lip Slip One Luxe Balm. My lips have been thanking her ever since. I wear it over my lipstick during the day, and use it to moisturize my lips overnight when I sleep.
