As much as I love covering fall trends, there’s nothing better than finding classic staples you can wear over and over. This fall, I’m really into camel tones. Yes, the neutral color is a trend. But it’s also a color that never goes out of style. Also new in my wardrobe that I’ll be wearing non stop? Flare jeans and platforms. Here are the four fall pieces I was so excited to find… and know I’ll wear over and over in upcoming weeks:
fall staple #1: camel blazers
I’ve been looking for the perfect camel blazer for fall and found one in this wool blazer. I love the boxy shape and roomier fit. I got it one size bigger than I normally wear to give it that oversized feel. It’s the perfect staple to wear to work over a dress or with jeans on the weekend.
fall staple #2: high-rise crop flare jeans
Flares are a big denim trend this fall. And not only flares that hit the floor. Kick flare jeans are also a style that’s made a comeback, and I have a feeling will stay for a while. The reason I love a kick flare is it’s cropped, so you can wear it with sandals while it’s still warm. When it get cool, it shows off your booties underneath. Since I’m only 5’3, I had to shorten my high rise kick flare jeans to make them hit above the ankle. Instead of taking them to the tailor, I simply cut them to give them a vintage feel.
fall staple #3: platform sandals
Speaking of being short, I’m so excited the platform is back! Platforms are way more comfortable than a sky high stiletto and give even more height. Right now I’m showing off my platform sandals (they also come in rust velvet) with cropped jeans. But I also use them to make myself look taller under wide leg pants and will use them under wide leg jumpsuits come holiday season.
fall staple #4: sleeveless shell sweaters
I know you’re probably thinking why is she talking about sleeveless styles for fall? But a sleeveless shell is the perfect layering piece. I wear my sleeveless shell sweaters (now on sale!) with blazers, with cardigans and even over white button down shirts for a layered preppy look.
What fall staples are you excited to wear this season?
