How to Wear the Houndstooth Trend

Sydne Style shows how to do the mod trend for fall in houndstooth dress

Plaid comes back into style every fall. But this year, houndstooth is also becoming extremely popular. The checked print can evoke different vibes depending on the size. A larger check pattern gives a mod feel while a smaller print has more of a classic vibe. Learn how to wear houndstooth. Here are some ways my fashion blogger friends and I are wearing the houndstooth trend…

Houndstooth dresses

I wore this houndstooth dress at fashion week from day to night. The mini style felt very mod to me, so I took inspiration from the ’60s with bold pops of primary colors using a yellow bag and red lips. It was still warm so I did booties but I plan on wearing it with knee high boots when the weather cools off. You can also open the wrap dress and wear it as a jacket, like I did in my IGTV video.

Houndstooth blazers

Speaking of jackets, I love a houndstooth blazer for fall. You can wear it so many different ways. Kat from With Love From Kat did a more casual take by wearing her houndstooth blazer with jeans while Sheryl of Walk in Wonderland dressed things up by going for a full suited houndstooth look.

Houndstooth coats

As it gets colder, a houndstooth coat makes a major statement. You can go for neutrals like Annabelle of Viva Luxury or brighten things up in your favorite color like The Style Scribe.

Houndstooth accessories

Not sure about an all-over print? Try a houndstooth accessory! I love the way Jess of Not Jess Fashion livens up her fall look with houndstooth booties. And how cozy does Kim of Eat Sleep Wear look in her houndstooth scarf?

Are you planning to rock houndstooth the season? If so, how do you plan on wearing the fall trend?

I think that’s a gorgeous pattern, it looks so classy and mature. I particularly love the coats, I’m crazy for coats so I guess I’m gonna have to get a houndstooth coat this fall haha
