As much as I love dresses, I usually find myself in jeans on the weekend. So I’m constantly searching for tops that I can use to dress up my denim. That way I can go to a holiday party in jeans and still look super festive. Here are different elements I look for in red tops to make a festive statement:
- anything lace
- bows (because who doesn’t want to look like a Christmas present?)
- luxe silky fabric
- ruffles
- sheer flowing sleeves
- embellishment, especially at the neck (no need for a necklace!)
This red lace off the shoulder top has two of the three elements with it’s ribbon waist. To make it look more holiday party, I paired it with winter white by slipping on white skinny jeans and pearl accessories: a pearl headband and my new pearl hoop earrings that are now on sale. You could also pair festive red tops with blue or black jeans. An added bonus? It will come in handy over Valentine’s Day if you have nothing to wear!

We took these photos in Big Bear during a little girls holiday trip. It was so nice to get to see some snow! I especially loved that it wasn’t too cold. It snowed the night before we arrived and then the snow started melting during our trip because it was in the 50s. As most of you know, I’m not a fan of the cold. But I love the pretty look of snow. So it was a win-win! You can see more from our trip over on Instagram. And I’ll be doing a recap on the blog later this week!
