Today, I want to go over 4 holiday trends for every body type. Whether you’re petite like me or plus size like Rachel (or somewhere in between!), you can easily rock these styles. My favorite part about all of them? Even though they’re trending for holiday, they’re still classic enough to wear year after year.
Holiday Trends for 2024
#1 Monochromatic
Monochromatic style, which is dressing in one color from head to toe, is one of my all time favorite styling tricks. It makes you look longer. It’s incredibly slimming. And it makes any outfit, even the most casual ones, look more polished and expensive. To bring monochromatic into holiday, I like to add cozy textures and touches of shine. I do winter white year after year (here’s a whole blog post about it!).

#2 Embellishments
Adding sparkle for the holidays is a no brainer. I’m obsessed with this sequin skirt (get ready to see tons of ways to wear it over on Instagram and my Substack next month!). But since I have a super casual lifestyle now in San Diego, my favorite way to do the embellished trend is with accessories. It makes even my go-to jeans and a button down uniform look instantly festive!

#3 Lady Jackets
I’m all about the lady jacket right now. I’ve tried so many. But as a pear shape, most have been too boxy for my frame. That’s why I was so excited to slip on this one. It’s cropped and lady-like but still fitted enough to show off my curves. I’ll be using it all winter as an elevated version of the denim jacket.

#4 Jewel Tones
My favorite jewel tone this year is emerald. It works with everything from denim to winter white and metallics. Other popular jewel tones for the holiday season? Sapphire blue and amethyst purple. But really it’s about wearing whatever you love. So add your favorite color and shine.
