4 Ways to Wear Green for the Holidays

Sydne Style shows holiday outfit ideas wearing green with fashion blogger elizabeth keene with brahmin handbags

If you saw my holiday home decor tour, you already know my color obsession this season: emerald green. There is something so luxe about the jewel tone that I feel royal when I wear it. And I have been wearing it so many ways! Here are four different ways to wear green that I’ve been loving this holiday season:

#1: monochromatic separates

I’ve always had a thing for monochromatic outfits. Wearing one color from head-to-toe not only makes you look more expensive but it also gives the illusion that you’re taller, a major bonus when you’re a shortie like me! The trick to rocking the monochromatic trend is to play with different texture and shades. So I combined a soft green cardigan with green corduroy jeans and my new Brahmin green snakeskin bag. And, of course, since it’s the holidays I had to add a little sparkle. Enter green statement earrings.

#2: earthy palettes

If you’re not a fan of head-to-toe color, there are more ways to wear green. Take Elizabeth’s lead and pair green with earthy hues. I love how she made a vibrant green top more subdued with a brown leather skirt. The top is sold out but how cute is the dress version? If the top looks familiar that’s because you might have seen it on my Instagram in pink. Speaking of pink, you can always add pink or coral to your green outfit, like Elizabeth did with her mutli-color snakeskin bag.

#3: luxe velvet

Another texture I like in green is velvet. Ok, I just like velvet in general for the holidays (see 8 ways to wear velvet pants here). I wore this green velvet jumpsuit (on sale here, and more sizes here) to host a holiday party at home. I picked it for two reasons: 1) it matched my emerald and blush theme holiday decor. And 2) I love jumpsuits for party hosting. They’re so comfy and easy but look so chic!

#4: with a midas touch

No matter what I’m wearing, I always love pairing green with gold during the holidays. It gives the rich color an even more luxe feel. You’ll notice that I’m wearing gold as an accent in each of these looks! I added extra gold to this green one shoulder dress with my new gold drop earrings (which also come in green) and old gold pumps (newer version here). I love this dress for travel because the ribbed material is stretchy and doesn’t crease!
