Every year, I round up my top favorites to look back and reflect. This year has certainly had its ups and downs but overall, I feel incredibly lucky: I was able to travel to so many amazing places, meet such remarkable people and work with some of my favorite brands. So I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane with me as I round up my 16 faves of 2016…

#1 Fave Outfit

My favorite outfit is from the beginning of the year, because it combines so many of my favorite trends of 2016: neutrals, monochromatic looks, turtlenecks and white jeans. I also wore variations of the tunic and and skinny jean or leather pant throughout the year, which was a new combo for me.

#2 Fave Video

I’ve had so much fun creating weekly videos for you guys over on my YouTube channel. I’d love to hear what you want to see more of in 2017. This year, my favorite video I did was how to style a blazer ten ways. The tricks work year after year!

#3 Fave City

Paris completely rejuvinated my mind, body and spirit when I visited in October. I’m so thankful for the ten days I spent in the magical city and I can’t wait to visit again soon.

#4 Fave Purchase

I splurged on a Chanel bag when I was in Paris. It’s a limited edition but a classic that I know I will have forever. And every time I look at it I’ll remember that fabulous trip.

#5 Fave Travel Buddy

My mom and I took a few trips in 2016 from kicking the year off in Hawaii to ending it in Mexico. I can’t wait to see what adventures 2017 has in store for us!

#6 Fave Photo Shoot

I had a major America’s Next Top Model moment when I got to dive into a pool in Beverly Hills for an underwater photoshoot!

#7 Fave New App

Boomerang. From beach shakes to dress twirls, this was hands-down my favorite app of 2016.

#8 Fave DIY

It’s funny what you discover on accident. By accidentally staining my favorite jeans I created a very easy do-it-yourself fix.

#9 Fave New Hobby

I started cooking more in 2016. I’ve been basically teaching myself through Pinterest. It’s been going pretty well so far (aside from some cuts and burns from being so clumsy in the kitchen). I’m definitely going to continue to cook more in the new year so let me know if you have any recipe recommendations!

#10 Fave Workout

In the beginning of the year, I set a New Years resolution to workout at least three times a week. Because of my travel schedule, I fell a bit behind at times. But I did find a workout I’m obsessed with: Hot Pilates. I’m going to majorly need it when I come back from my Australian holiday!

#11 Fave Shoe Trend

I’ve always been known as a heels girl. So I shocked even myself when I started wearing sneakers. Now I can’t get enough of the sporty style… and my feet are majorly thankful!

#12 Fave Denim Trend

2016 was the year of cropped denim. From cropped flares to raw hems, the shortie in me rejoiced as I DIYed my way through jeans instead of visiting a tailor.

#13 Fave Lipstick Color

Blush! I got really into blush pink nudes this year. My three top faves were (and still are!) Burt’s Bees “Blush Basin,” MAC “Velvet Teddy” and L’Oreal “Julianne’s Nude.”

#14 Fave Hotel

I spent a ton of time at the Nomo Soho in New York. Between the bright and airy rooms to the gorgeous restaurant downstairs, it’s my go-to in the city.

#15 Fave Ways You Wore It

You guys totally rocked all the trends in my Trend Guide videos! It was super hard narrowing it down but here are some of my top picks from Panot 711, Dayami Rabassa, Glam Karen, Angelica Sandoval, Miss Glo, Ivon Amanda, Sassy Teacher Chic, From CH to NZ, Shannon Elise and A Million Bucks

#16 Fave Insta-Quote

I continued last year’s “Quotes” album on my phone, where I screen-grab inspirational quotes I find on Instagram. I found this one extra inspiring about embracing uncertainty. I always want everything to be so perfect. And I’ve always been very scared of change. So I constantly look at this quote and try to smile at all the good that has happened in my life… and smile even brighter that the best is yet to come.
