A couple of years ago, I rounded up my favorite spots for green tea in New York City. The other day, while ordering an iced green tea latte, I realized I’ve never shared my favorite matcha spots in LA. So I came home to do this blog post and discovered that all my go-to green tea spots are in West Hollywood. Since that’s where I live, I suppose it’s not surprising. But I just wanted to clarify in case you were wondering why this post is so localized. If you live in the area, or are planning a trip to Los Angeles, I highly recommend these three spots. Not only is the matcha delicious, but they’re also perfect for an Instagram photo op!
The Spot: The Butcher, The Baker & The Cappuccino Maker Cafe
Address: 8653 West Sunset Blvd
My Go-To Drink Order: Blue Butterfly Matcha Latte
Why I Love It: The outdoor patio makes me feel like I’m on vacation in Greece. I haven’t eaten here yet, though I hear it’s a great brunch spot. I usually go for lattes. Their matcha is delicious, but I especially love the blue variation for an afternoon snack. It almost tastes like a warm vanilla milkshake, perfect for afternoon sugar cravings!

The Spot: Cha Cha Matcha
Address: 510 N Robertson Blvd
Drink Snack Order: Soft Serve Swirl
Why I Love It: I used to visit Cha Cha Matcha in Soho, because it was just a few blocks away from my go-to hotel in the city. So I was thrilled when they opened up a cafe in LA. For starters, the decor is just too cute! Pink umbrellas and palms? Yes, please! I also love their soft serve. The matcha flavor is a staple, but they change up the swirl. Last time I went it was lavender CBD, which was so delicious!

The Spot: Alfred Tea Room
Address: 705 N Alfred St
My Go-To Drink Order: Matcha Almond Milk Latte
Why I Love It: I’m sure you’ve seen their pink wall on Instagram. I’ve certainly taken my fair share of photos in front of it! While the pink tiles are an Instagram hot spot, the tea itself is insanely good. I usually go for a classic green tea with almond milk (hot in winter, iced in summer). If you’re a fan of boba, they have a big bubble tea menu as well.

I hope this list helps you if you’re visiting LA and are looking for a delicious and cute matcha spot to try! If you have any others you’d recommend I’d love to hear your suggestions!
