I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I took it easy and caught up on work. I’m super excited for this week because I’m meeting my parents in Joshua Tree! They rented an airbnb in desert and I’m taking Jack Jack to see his furry uncles. I can’t wait for some much needed family time. I just got this new silk face mask that I plan on taking with me (use code SYDNE20 for 20% off!). The company also makes the first of this week’s 5 faves…
5 THINGS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW
#1 beauty sleep
You’ve heard me talk about Night a bunch of times. I’ve been sleeping on their pillow for almost two years now! They just released a new, and more affordable, pillowcase to their fabulous collection. The Skincare Pillowcase has two sides: mulberry silk for when your skin is drier and bamboo for when it’s oiler. It’s so perfect for going from winter into summer months because all you do is swap which side you sleep on! Both sides help healthy skin.
Last year, I really started upping my sleepwear game. I used to just sleep in oversized tees. Now I find myself constantly looking for cute sets that I can wear in bed and to lounge in all morning long. Enter this 3-piece floral set. It’s super soft and such a good price! I love it so much I’m thinking of getting the sage color, too!
I’ve been putting pussy willows all over my home. I love that they’re neutral but full of warm texture. I admit, I hated the name until I read that the branches got the moniker because the white furry nubs resemble cat paws. Now I think the name is adorable. I bought fresh branches from Trader Joe’s weeks ago and they still look as good as new. But if you prefer faux florals, I found these online.
I finally caught up on Your Honor last week and finished the limited edition series. And man, was it good! Brian Cranston is such an incredible actor. He plays a judge, covering up a hit and run after his son accidentally kills a young boy. There’s drama, gangs, mobsters, basically everything you’d want in a crime show. If you haven’t seen it yet I definitely recommend adding it to your watch list.
I picked up Party of Two after enjoying The Wedding Date. The rom-com is about the sister of the main character of the previous book. Olivia is a brilliant black woman, who just moved from New York to Los Angeles to start her own law firm. Looking for love was the last thing on her mind. But soon after arriving in LA, she meets politician Max and the two have instant connection. The adorable read follows their relationship from one obstacle to another, mostly Max’s public life contrasted with Olivia’s desire for privacy. And there is so much food that I kept finding myself stopping to get a snack as I gobbled the book up!
